In an intimate, wryly humorous soliloquy, Olson reflects on growing up queer and gender non-conforming in Minnesota, pondering the classic character traits of her Scandinavian heritage, the power of identifying with fictional characters, and the joy of pining over unavailable women. The city streets of California and Minnesota provide a mundane yet gorgeously cinematic backdrop as Tell Me Everything Will Be Okay unfolds a deep reflection on vulnerability as a path to true heroism, and storytelling itself as a mode of survival.
